Only one person in QLD has died so far, which was a bit reassuring, until my mum (who works at the local hospitial) told me that we have half the ICU beds that we should, and only one EMCO(I think that's what she called it, it takes over control of your lungs and heart and stuff) machine in QLD. I also got a lecture on using hand rails and things like that. The gist was "Don't". The scary thing is, there are over 10,000 confirmed cases and it hasn't even peaked yet.

Ughh I know. That's so scary isn't it! My Mums a Nurse at the womens and childrens hospital down here and she's been telling me similar scary stuff about how bad it will be when it hits its peak because there just wont be enough facilities available.

The way I see it, you're almost better off catching it early.. atleast if you get it now there'll still be room in the hospital and enough drugs to go around!

I have no idea, really. All I know is that it causes a really bad fever and makes you vommit alot. At this stage it really only seems to be dangerous to people with underlying medical conditions/weak immune systems like cancer patients, the elderly, infants, etc. It seems to be infecting alot of young people at the moment.. Im pretty sure that's because young people like to socialize alot and are always in big crowds. :/

Scary isn't it! I hope you're keeping away from crowds and being extra careful with that bun in the oven.. there's been a few worrying cases of pregnant lasses getting EXTREMELY sick over here and having to have cesareans because of swine flu :(. Stay safe!
